Secrets for Success - Part 4 of 4

Successful direct selling companies have an edge; they know the secrets!

We've identified the top 20 secrets. This article introduces secrets #16 through #20.

Use these and all of the other secrets to power your direct selling business!

Secret #16

Keep your promises.

Independent representatives trust you, so you must be trustworthy.  Don’t make promises you can’t keep.  Strive to meet or exceed expectations.

Secret #17

Be aware of how company decisions will be perceived by your representatives.

Direct selling companies make many changes, most of which affect the sales force.  Always think about how your actions and decisions will affect the field.

When taking something away, whenever possible, give something new at the same time.

Secret #18

Say no to negative attitudes.

Sometimes the stress of working with a volunteer army causes people in the home office to develop an “us vs. them” mentality.

Don’t talk negatively about “them” or each other.

Show your employees that your representatives are your customers and that without your customers, your business would cease to exist.

Secret #19

Be patient.

We believe a major cause of the failure of direct selling companies is a lack of patience.  If your company isn’t as large as you’d like it to be, don’t give up.  Persistence is important.

Most trees don’t grow big overnight!

Secret #20

While at times you may feel like an island in that your business is different from many others, you don’t need to go it alone.

Ask for help when you need it.
